Helping to Build Loving Families.....
One Child At ATime.

BirthMother Services

Making an adoption plan can seem overwhelming. We are here to help.

We believe that the choice to place a child for adoption is an act of love. Our staff of trained professionals will treat you with kindness and respect, with the goal of helping you be comfortable with your decision.

Free, confidential counseling:

We will help you sort through your options and make the decision that is best for you and this child.

Emotional support during the pregnancy and after:

We will be there to support you during your pregnancy , through the birth and delivery, and in the months and years that follow the birth.

The opportunity to choose the family for your baby:

Our waiting families have completed a thorough homestudy evaluation and have been approved to adopt through our agency. We ensure our families can provide a stable and nurturing home for a child.

The opportunity to be actively involved in the adoption process:

We let YOU make the decisions. Do you want to meet the adoptive parents? Do you want them to be at the hospital? Do you want to see the baby? Do you have a special name for the baby that you would like to put on the birth certificate? We will do our best to honor your wishes.

Pictures and updates of your child after placement:

We require our adoptive families to submit pictures and updates of the child for at least the first year. Should you desire these pictures and updates for longer than one year, we can negotiate this with the adoptive family.

Assistance in getting medical care:

We can help you find a doctor in your area, arrange for Medicaid, and register at a local hospital.

Assistance with living expenses:

In Georgia, an adoption agency is allowed to help with pregnancy-related living expenses. We can also pay for any medical bills for you and the baby that are not paid through Medicaid or health insurance.

A Direct Placement:

Most birthmothers want their child to start life with his or her adoptive parents. In most cases, the baby will go home from the hospital with the adoptive family. No temporary care is needed.

Help with the Legal Procedure:

After the baby is at least 24 hours old, your caseworker will meet with you and you will sign documents called "surrenders," in which you voluntarily give up your rights to the child so the child can be placed for adoption. Our caseworkers are trained in the surrender process and ensure the surrenders are taken correctly and efficiently.

Help with Birthfather Issues:

In Georgia, the birthfather is entitled to notice that his child is being placed for adoption. We will make every effort to secure his cooperation and allow him to sign surrender documents similar to yours. If that is not possible, we will proceed with a termination of his parental rights through the proper Georgia court. There is NO COST to you for these legal services.
